The Club

The Phoenix Badminton Club is a small and sociable club of approximately 40 members. Club nights are held every Tuesday evening 7:30 - 10:30pm at Sherfield School, Sherfield-on-Lodden, North Hampshire. Match nights are held on Thursday evenings 8:00 - 10:00pm at Everest Community College, Basingstoke.

Membership

For the 2010/2011 season an annual membership fee of £140 is due at the start of the season. This can be paid in two parts, of £70 in September and £70 in the first week of October (Cheques payable to 'Phoenix Badminton Club').

Visitors are welcome to come to the club and should notify the Club Secretary before they visit. A payment of £5 per session is required. A visitor is entitled to 3 sessions before they need to either join or leave the club. If a visitor chooses to join the club, any visitor payments made will be deducted from the total membership fee.

The season runs from September through to April (inclusive). The club also runs a summer club during May, June and July which is open to any players. Payment for the Summer Club can either be paid per session, on the night, or by a single lump sum in advance.

The club endeavours to keep the standard of play at a level reasonable for league play. The club currently plays in the lower Basingstoke and District Leagues and is running 5 league teams during the 2010/2011 season. The club does not cater for complete beginners. If in doubt, come along and observe the standard of play.

Facilities

•   Sports hall, with high roof and heating.

•   4 badminton courts.

•   Men's and Women's changing rooms including toilets.

•   Free car parking directly outside sports hall.

•   All games are played using feather shuttlecocks.
